Kevin's Thoughts...
Viking Ocean cruises are one of the best cruise lines in the world. For many people, it simply is the peak of luxury cruising. Being a luxury cruise, many things are included with the fare that might otherwise be charged for separately. Many drinks, including alcohol at lunch and dinner, and coffee/tea service throughout the day is included. At least one shore excursion per port is also included, and at most ports you will have a selection to choose from. Air is often listed as included, but it can be removed and lowers the cost, if you prefer your own arrangements, or simply don't need it.
Viking is a no-kids allowed cruise line. You must be at least 18 years old to cruise with Viking Ocean.
The ships are considered medium in size (by tonnage) though Viking calls them small. They are all of an identical design, and carry 930 passengers when full... and they usually are. The medium size of the ships (47,842 tons), but small passenger count yields a large amount of space per passenger. These ships certainly won't feel crowded, even when full.
Viking is a high service oriented cruise line, with detailed levels of service. As a luxury cruise line, you expect the ships to be more than just a boat, and they certainly are. Viking cruises also uses it's extensive river cruise experience to operate some excellent shore excursions that are included in each port. You also have the opportunity to buy up to more personal excursions if you prefer.
Viking does not run a lot of promotions, although when they do, we can certainly get them for you. Viking has some unusual payment policies, and typically requires full payment much earlier than other cruise lines, sometimes much, much earlier. We can help you navigate these policies and promotions as well as to provide additional onboard credit for every booking. Using Vance World Travel's relationship to Uplift can help navigate around some of these early payment programs that Viking has.
Viking travels the world, with no set repeating routes. Like many smaller cruise lines, you are best to chose your itinerary, and then work your schedule to fit, as the itineraries you may want may only be available a few times a year, at most.
