Kevin's Thoughts...
Celebrity Cruises is a premium cruise line. This means that you are getting a more upscale, service oriented experience than on one of the mass market cruise lines (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian). However, you will generally pay more for this experience. For many people it's an easy trade off. Higher quality food, better guest to passenger ratios, and nicer ships are what you get for the money. However, when you look at the included features with "Always Included" you may actually break even compared to the less expensive lines.
Celebrity is the most family friendly of the Premium lines, by far, but is still a premium line and will certainly have fewer children than the mass-market lines. While there are kids programs on the ships for kids of all ages, there is a focus on family activities rather than over the top kids programs. When it comes to premium and luxury Celebrity is the best cruise line that would be considered kid friendly, the rest would be "OK" (at best) for kids, and even some don't accept kids at all.
The ships are vibrant and modern styled, with innovative features. For example, the Apex, Beyond and the Edge include the Magic Carpet, which is a deck on the side of the ship that moves depending on the time of day. Sometimes it's a bar/lounge, and sometimes it is the tender launch, and other times its an outdoor dining location. Some of the ships have a real grass lawn on the upper deck for laying on to watch movies under the stars, or even just to relax. Classy, and modern is everywhere.
Celebrity has introduced "Always Included" to their pricing programs. All rooms include the standard beverage package, wifi and tips (gratuity). It bundles the most common add-on costs of a cruise into one complete package. Additionally I have rooms reserved on most sailings with additional discounts, plus we will always give you additional onboard credit. Note.. there will be from time to time special discounted rooms that do NOT include the Always Included features... these can be a great way to save some money, especially if you don't drink much.
Celebrity has mostly 7 night and longer cruise itineraries. They operate ships throughout the world, and go to great destinations. They often depart from Bayonne, NJ (near New York City) as well as more traditional ports.
