Kevin's Thoughts...
Cunard is a mix of classic cruising and modern luxury. They offer the most classic cruise experience in the industry, with all of the elegant touches from the romantic era of cruising. Afternoon tea, Gala Balls with a live orchestra, getting dressed up for a formal dinner are all the norm on a Cunard Cruise.
While kids are allowed on a Cunard cruise, there will be very few. There are also not many services specifically for kids. You will not find the high energy activities, water slides, and flash that typically entertains kids on a cruise.
The Cunard ships, aka "The Queens" are surprisingly young for such and old company and are of 2 different styles. The Cruise Ships (Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth) are medium sized, and the Queen Mary 2 is a larger sized Ocean Liner. All of the ships are spacious with lots of elbow room, and grand open spaces. The ships are simply beautiful, wood accents, art, and fine furnishings throughout. The cruises come with high quality key-note speakers on every cruise.. astronauts, authors, scientist, and more, in addition to Broadway-quality stage shows, and spectacular music performances.
Promotions can be hit or miss on Cunard. You always save with Vance World Travel. We get excusive offers, as well as always offering a discount on every cruise. Like all other cruise lines, booking early gets you the best deals. Being a smaller fleet, they rarely have empty rooms.
Of the 3 ships, the Queen Mary 2 is an Ocean Liner (just like a cruise ship, built specifically for open ocean crossings) and primarily runs a set 7-night route from New York City to London (Southampton), year round. There are no stops on these runs, and you can combine them and make a round trip out of it. The other ships roam the world, lots of various ports, and various lengths, not a lot of repeated itineraries.
